God Wants Us to Work Together
Irving
Bible Church, TX
"A
new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one
another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one
another. By this shall all men know that ye are my
disciples, if ye have love one another." John
13:34-35
For the first time God brought together
believers from our church and
believers from Irving Bible Church
in 1994 on the GMF
church-planting trip to Voronezh, Russia. It was so
good to meet several people from IBC who were on fire for
the Lord and they wanted their church to have fellowship
with a church in Russia.
The sister church relationships were
established then and in 1995 a group of believers from
IBC came to Penza to strengthen our church and all existing churches in
Penza, and to share Good News about Jesus Christ with all
people of Penza and Penza-19. Through one-to-one
witnessing, evening evangelistic meetings, Bible classes
for children, youth fellowship, street evangelism, etc.,
hundreds and hundreds of people heard the Gospel and many
responded to Jesus. Our church members were able to meet
believers from IBC and learn from them how to
minister better to the people. IBC believers
also came home as changed people. They
saw how God works in the hearts of the people. By His
grace such trips from IBC to Good News Bible Church are
held every year.
But this is not the only way we work
together. We pray for each other, we have been sending
youth teams to IBC, we keep writing to each other on the
daily basis. It is so exciting to see how God is working
in the lives of each other. God is faithful!
Our church could not reach the maturity level it has now
if we hadn't such fruitful fellowship with IBC - our
sister church. IBC is our
older sister!
Understanding the
fruitfulness of sister-church relationships for God's
work Good News Bible Church was encouraged by God in 1998
to establish such fellowship with Hope Bible Church of
Saransk that located 100 miles north of Penza. Hope Bible
Church was planted in 1997 on the GMF trip to Saransk. This
year we have sent for a week a team of 4 missionaries to
Saransk to help with the evangelistic effort they had,
with youth ministry and children's ministry. We keep in
touch with each other and pray for each other trying to
help in those needs that arise in our both churches. HBC is our younger sister.
And it is a growing sister!
Please, pray that
our sister church relationships would grow stronger and
that many other churches started to work together in the
ministry to reach many people for Christ and glorify God.
"Two are better than one; because they have a
good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one
will lift up his fellow" Eccl.4:9-10.
